San Rafael Police Assocation Donates $10,000 to Marin Humane Society

September 13. 2012 - The San Rafael Police Association is proud to announce a $10,000 donation to the Marin Humane Society.   This donation is the Association’s way of saying “Thank You” to MHS for their long standing practice of providing care for the County’s working Police canines.  The SRPA wants to recognize and reward the Humane Society’s dedication to the dogs who keep our officers and communities safe.  SRPA looks forward to a continuing partnership between the new San Rafael Police K9 Association and MHS as we turn to the public for their generous support.

The San Rafael Police Department had a very successful K9 program for over 20 years, but unfortunately it had to be eliminated in 2003 due to budget constraints.  The men and women of SRPD have formed the San Rafael Police K9 Association in an effort to rebuild the program solely through fundraising.  Several police departments across the nation have created similar programs with great success.

Please note that the San Rafael Police Assocation made this donation, and is not directly associated with the San Rafael Police K9 Assocation.  The donation made does not come from the funds of the K9 Association.

The San Rafael Police K9 Association is a 501(c)(3) non-profit tax-exempt public charity. The content of this site may not necessarily represent the views of the San Rafael Police Department.
